The goal for the 2018 YRAP program is to further involve and educate the Intro thru Preliminary Young riders in Area VI. By giving them opportunities to learn and practice their skills in real situations under the guidance of USEA Instructor Certification Program instructors, Young Rider Coach and Chef d’Equipe (team manager) ,as well as team candidate and past team riders. The hope is to further involve them in the sport by requiring, and rewarding volunteer hours at USEA events. Riders will also be rewarded for attending camps and Clinics with points. For more information and sign up forms please visit our Area VI Young Riders page.

The YRAP Jacket/patch program
Jackets will be available for purchase at the beginning of the season. As riders complete a event in good standing they will be awarded a corresponding patch, all the way through the levels. Team riders will continue to get patches as well.
Upon joining YRAP all members will receive a lapel pin to identify them for their dressage coat .
In the second half of the season I would like to see a YRAP Championship where they can practice their skills such as jogs and vet box. These can occur within other divisions using the first and second place YRAP riders in their divisions. It is possible this could be a special award included as part of the Area VI Championships.
Before the first event of the season Virtual Teams will be randomly selected. Teams will include 5 members. They will compete for the same points only they are added together as a team. The team points will go towards year end awards. The hope with this program is that the members get introduced to working together for a common goal. This program is also in place to create unity in the area.
